The Virginia High School League has released important updates on 9th-grade eligibility and school transfers.
Key takeaway:
To be immediately eligible at a high school outside your attendance zone, students must either:
βοΈ Attend that schoolβs feeder middle school for 8th grade
OR
βοΈ Be accepted into an approved academy/specialty program
π This rule impacts future 8th graders (Class of 2027 and beyond) β current 8th graders are not affected.
π Be sure to review the full FAQ to understand how this may impact your student-athlete.
