Save the date for PECHS prom! This year, prom will be held on April 11 at the Farmville Sports Arena. Also, PECHS will open Prom Central to students on March 14th from 10am-2pm for students to come find their favorite prom attire at no cost to them. There is a wide selection of choices for everyone.

On Friday, February 20, 2026, PECHS students traveled to the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts to experience GIANTS, the groundbreaking exhibition by Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz. Following this show, students explored other areas of the VMFA, discovering a wide variety of art and artists from all over the world and throughout history.

🎉 Black History Month Spirit Week Finale at PECHS 🎉

Prince Edward County High School is proud to celebrate the Black History Month Spirit Week Finale, taking place February 23–27! This exciting week of themed dress days and activities is a celebration of culture, creativity, excellence, and community.

Throughout the week, students and staff will participate in daily spirit themes that highlight Black history, influence, and pride. The week will also feature our highly anticipated Black History Month Hip Hop Competition, which will take place during 4th period on Wednesday in the auditorium. Students will showcase their talents through hip hop performances, step, spoken word, and other creative acts that celebrate expression and legacy.

A dress rehearsal for competition participants will be held on Monday during 4th period to prepare for Wednesday’s event.

What makes this week especially meaningful is that it was planned and organized by our students, with support from administration. Their initiative, leadership, and vision truly embody the spirit of PECHS.

We are incredibly proud of the way our students continue to honor Black history while creating memorable experiences for our school community.

Others were recognized for being helpful to classmates, showing kindness, and contributing positively to our school community. Kindness was on full display across PECPS this week! 💜At the elementary school, students exchanged sweet treats. At the middle and high schools, students celebrated the simple act of being kind. At the CTE, cosmetology students completed a “Love Is in the Hair” assignment and showcased their work in the lobby. In our community, thank you to everyone who sent Eagle Shout Outs to help celebrate our amazing staff! 🦅✨
