Mobile Classroom Bid

ES Renovation Updates 3/13/24:

Moseley Architects meets with us weekly to discuss various aspects of the comprehensively renovated elementary project.  Today, we discussed the modular classrooms that will be placed on the blacktop and the phases and timelines of the entire project.  Approximately fifteen classes will begin the 2024-2025 school year in modulars, and it is likely that those rooms will be designated for grades 3 and 4.  There will also be several bathrooms and a teacher workroom in the “blacktop complex”.  A great deal of “behind the scenes” planning is also being discussed such as utility connections, technology access, furniture, and storage, etc.  In addition to these conversations, Moseley has divided the project into approximately five phases: Phase I – spring/fall 2024, Phase II- summer 2025, Phase III- winter 2025, Phase IV- summer 2026, Phase V- winter 2026.  Of course, each phase has very specific tasks and timelines associated with it; however, it is critical to remember that this process is fluid and dependent upon hundreds of variables. Moseley Architects will present formally to our school board on April 10th.

ES Renovation Update 2/1/24:

The last two weeks have been very busy for our elementary school staff members.  Moseley Architects met with the staff to discuss classroom needs and wishes for the comprehensively renovated buildings.  Everything from the size of classroom cubbies to the new entrance of the building was discussed and our input was noted.  If all things go as planned, some elementary grades will begin the school year in trailers as construction will begin around late August.  We are working closely with Moseley to develop a timeline for the various phases of the project.  As soon as that is completed, we will share the information with our community.  Please remember that this is a fluid process that will be filled with excitement and frustration, but we promise that the new Prince Edward County Elementary School will be worth it.
