PECHS Band Performs at the Virginia Department of Education

Prince Edward County High School is proud to announce that members of the PECHS Band were invited to perform at the Virginia Department of Education on Thursday, April 23.
Student musicians selected for this honor included Lily McCabe, trumpet, Bryce Morgan, alto saxophone, Cheyanne Chappell, alto saxophone, Skyler Crenshaw, B-flat clarinet, Gavin Bellamy, euphonium, Guillermo Salinas, bass guitar, Kamari Monroe, percussion, and Kazu Dinmore, percussion.
The ensemble performed βThrough Purple Mists Ascendingβ by Ted Allen, showcasing both their technical skill and musical expression. The group was led by Band Director Ms. Watson.
Also in attendance were Mrs. Garrett, Director of Curriculum and Instruction, and Superintendent Dr. Jones. Dr. Jones shared, βI am incredibly proud of our students for their remarkable performance; they truly showcased the immense talent that defines our division. This was a wonderful opportunity to emphasize the high level of excellence occurring in our schools every day. I want to especially acknowledge the steady direction of Ms. Watson, whose leadership and dedication to our arts programs continue to provide the foundation for our students to shine on such a significant stage.β
